Ensenada

It is a rural town 42 kilometers from Puerto Varas, in the Los Lagos Region, known for its deep connection with nature and for being one of the main places for outdoor activities and adventure tourism in the region.

It is the gateway to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, the oldest national park in Chile (1926), and the point where the magnificent landscapes of northern Patagonia begin.

Privileged for its beauty, with a unique combination of ancient lava covered by temperate rainforests, crystal clear lakes and rivers, and active volcanoes that remain snow-capped for much of the year.

What to visit?

  • Osorno Volcano

    Osorno Volcano (2,652m) is often described as one of the most perfect volcanoes in the world due to its almost symmetrical conical shape. The summit usually remains snow-capped for much of the year. Its intimidating and majestic presence dominates the landscape.

  • Green Lake

    It is characterized by its intense emerald green color, which comes from microalgae suspended in the water.

    "It is a small corner hidden among the evergreen forest" with small trails among coigües, arrayanes, canelos, and giant ferns.

  • Petrohue River

    It is born in the crystalline waters of Lake Todos los Santos, descending between volcanoes and mountains, creating one of the most spectacular landscapes in Chile. Its turquoise waters offer a unique experience, surrounded by nature in its purest state. Descending the Petrohué is discovering the essence of Northern Patagonia: wild, powerful, and unforgettable.

  • Todos Los Santos Lake

    Its emerald green waters reflect snow-capped volcanoes, ancient forests, and mountains emerging from the Andes mountain range. Formed by glaciers thousands of years ago, this lake is the heart of Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and the origin of the Petrohué River.

  • Calbuco Volcano

    Its silhouette is more irregular and eroded, which gives it a completely different personality than Osorno.

    After the great eruption of 2015, Calbuco became internationally known.

    The 2,025m Calbuco emerges from one of the most important temperate rainforests on the planet.

  • Lake Llanquihue

    A lake of glacial origin, it is the second largest lake in Chile. The name comes from Mapudungun, which is usually interpreted as "sunken place."
